The short version

Sanity Cards doesn't require an account, doesn't ask for your email or real name, doesn't run ads, and doesn't sell your data. Rooms and chat exist only while a game is live and are not kept afterward. This page explains exactly what we do collect and why.

What we collect
  • A random device ID. When you first open the app, we generate a random identifier stored only on your device. It's used to remember which deck packs you've unlocked and isn't tied to your name, email, or any other personal information.
  • The display name you type in. This is shown to other players in your room only. We don't verify it and don't link it to any other data we hold.
  • Room and game state. Cards drawn, chat messages, drink counts, and similar in-game state exist only in server memory while a room is active, and are discarded once the room closes or goes idle. We keep a short-lived, limited log of recent chat and card text purely for moderation and safety review (see below), which is deleted on a rolling basis.
  • Push notification tokens. If you enable notifications, we store a device push token (from Apple/Google's push service) linked to your random device ID, so we can send you "it's your turn" and similar in-game alerts. Nothing else is sent to you.
  • Reports you submit. If you report another player, we keep the report (reported player, reason, and any context you provide) so our moderation team can review it.
  • Basic aggregate analytics. Anonymous counts like how many rooms were created or how a card was rated, with no personal information attached.
  • Standard server logs. Like almost any online service, our hosting provider logs IP addresses and request metadata for security and operational purposes. We don't use this for tracking or profiling.
What we don't collect

We don't ask for your email, phone number, real name, or payment details today. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs. We don't sell or share your data with data brokers.

If real accounts (e.g. Sign in with Apple/Google) or paid purchases are added in the future, this policy will be updated first, and will describe exactly what a payment processor or auth provider collects on our behalf.

Moderation & safety data

Chat messages and player-submitted cards are automatically screened for clearly abusive content, and players can report or block other players directly in-app. Reports and flagged content are visible to our moderation team so we can act on them, and are retained only as long as needed for review.

Children's privacy

Sanity Cards is intended for users 18 and older and requires an age check before use. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Your choices

You can stop using the app at any time, which stops all data collection going forward. Because we don't hold an email or account tied to your identity, we don't have a way to look up a specific person's data — the random device ID alone can't identify you. If you've submitted a report or been reported and want that record removed, contact us using the details below and we'll do our best to locate and remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. Meaningful changes (like adding real accounts or payments) will come with an update to this page before they take effect.
